United Business Association (UBA) is an association of Kenyans from all economic spheres in Kenya, and has a membership of about 5000 members nationwide. UBA’s main objective is to better the business environment in Kenya through promoting mutual understanding between policy makers and stakeholders, and creating awareness on issues affecting the stability and progress of local businesses.

The business environment is beset by many regulations and other overpowering circumstances that threaten the very survival of businesses. This therefore means that the business community will be compelled to spend more time canvassing for business at the expense of seemingly minor but very important issues central to the sustenance of their businesses.
Previously stable businesses are now caving in under the weight of a hostile business environment. To avert a crisis, the business community must form business organizations that will continually lobby policy makers into adopting their viewpoints on reducing cost of doing business, establishing a more promising business outlook, entrenching equitable trade, improving the environment (flora and fauna), incentives for pushing back internal & external market frontiers, etc.
Becoming a member
UBA is owned, funded and managed by its members. Most of our members are based in Nairobi and its environs while the rest are spread out in the country. Membership to UBA is open and extended to traders, institutions, organizations or individuals registered within the republic of Kenya and who have a direct interest in creating sound business practice. Our annual membership fee is Ksh. 8000 for both new and existing members. New members will pay Ksh 1000 which is the registration fee. Members can pay the annual membership fee online by clicking on the below button.
The association is run by a committee that is presided over by the chairman. The association operates a well-staffed secretariat through which the Committee liaises with members or vice versa. The secretariat articulates members’ concerns and keeps them abreast of developments affecting business and their well-being through Circulars and notices.
